In the hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland there are many character opportunities outside of character dining. You can often find characters in the lobbies and at the Hollywood Hotel, the pool. Sometimes these are scheduled and sometimes they are random. If you stay in the Kingdom Club a Disney character will greet you every night in their pajamas. During select holidays there will be themed character apperances.
